Tools
We shoot high res digital, Hasselblad 22MP; Nikon D3 12MP; Kodak SLR/n 14MP. Flash or tungsten lighting is used where necessary to create the desired ambiance. G5 Macs are used for image management in the studio; and a 15" MacBook Pro for location image management.
Shooting digitally is enormously seductive, with instant 8" X 12" views of each shot available for the client and photographer to peruse. The client knows positively on the spot when the winning shot has been captured, providing peace of mind to the client, and facilitating efficient progress of the session.
What the client can expect
Quotations are provided for each job, being a reflection of the nature of the assignment and the client's usage requirements. Fees are very fair.
Philip normally meets with the client to identify the general defined goals and needs, the specific number of images required, the areas to be photographed and the desired ambiance. These requirements are interfaced with the budget, a realistic assessment is made and a proposal put forward.
After the shoot there is a varying degree of digital post-production to
optimize files and digitally 'enhance' when necessary. A secure on-line image library for client proofing is available, and the images are delivered in two or three days on DVD as high resolution tiff files for publication/print, and jpg files for emails, web use etc., with 8" X 10" proofs and contact prints for easy reference.

Philip Castleton
Philip is at home whether shooting from a helicopter or arranging the folds of a chintz curtain in a period interior. Basic principles are applied to the seemingly disparate situations; his considered use of light, awareness of form and composition, the determination of viewpoint, results in images that have strong impact and convey the required message.
Philip has been involved with photography for over twenty five years. At sixteen his dad gave him a clunky old Exacta SLR. All nighters in the darkroom were the norm and the infatuation has endured ever since.
